SkyinMadrid was formed in 2005 by Michael Bennett, an expatriate English designer with a passion for gadgets and broadcasting. TheUnion Jack Sky remote  company quickly found a ready market for quality satellite installations amongst the British and Irish community in Madrid, and later amongst English- speaking Spaniards.
Following thorough testing and research, working methods were introduced to vastly improve standards of reception of BBC channels, making evening reception of BBC2 possible for the first time on 1.8 metre dishes in the capital.

In 2007, Kurt Claes became head of engineering & installations, whilst Michael Bennett returned to Britain to provide technical support and to run the UK office supplying satellite receivers and subscriptions.


Kurt Claes graduated in Political and Social Science at the University of Antwerp and holds a Business Management Degree. In Madrid, he has built up a company (Mi Casa My World S.L.) serving expatriates relocating to Spain, with an annual turnover in excess of €92,000 euros. He is fluent in Dutch, French, English and Spanish. He also speaks some German.

Michael Bennett holds an honours degree in Fine Art from Leeds Metropolitan University. He has worked for many large companies in the UK, including News International, The Financial Times, Unilever and the BBC World Service, and occasionally contibutes as a writer to Private Eye magazine. He speaks Spanish and English.
